Panoramic Kollhoff Tower at Potsdamer Platz

Here is another nice place to get a view from the top of Berlin: the panoramic platform, called Panoramapunkt, located in the Kollhoff Tower building.

The Kollhoff Tower is located in the heart of Potsdamer Platz, at the intersection of two streets. The building itself is a pointed brick building in the style of the 1920s and 1930s, and it is precisely for this reason that it stands out from the two other buildings to its left and right, which have a modern glass facade.

With the “fastest elevator in Europe” we reach the 24th floor of the building in only 20 seconds. From there, a staircase leads to the 25th floor, which is the top of the building and where the viewing platform is located. From there, at a height of about 100 meters, you have a magnificent view of Berlin.

On sunny days it is nice to visit the tower in the late afternoon – you can sit on one of the benches and enjoy the sunset. Or from the restaurant on the 24th floor – the restaurant has large windows that give you a great view. From there, you can enjoy the scenery and the sunset while having a drink.

On the 24th floor, panels also tell the story of Potsdamer Platz, from its golden age in the 1920s and 30s, through destruction during the war, abandonment during the division of the city, to its reconstruction after the fall of the wall.

How to get there

The viewing platform is open daily from 11 am to 8 pm in summer and from 11 am to 6 pm in winter. The restaurant is open from 12 noon.

Ticket price: €7.5, children under 6 free
